Scrapbook - My Best Equine Buddies!

Ben

Ben

I met Ben when I was eight years old. My grandpa drove into the driveway one day with a horse in the back of his truck - a horse for me! Ben was a buckskin gelding that spent the next year bucking me off almost every day. He was stubborn, but I was even more stubborn! I kept getting back up onto his round, golden back, clutching his jet black mane and hanging on with all my strength - and I finally learned to ride him.

Angela Dorsey and Comanche

Comanche

I met Comanche when I was eight years old too, when a mare in our neighborhood, named Apache, had a beautiful bay and white spotted filly. I fell in love with Comanche at first sight, but I knew she'd never be mine. How could anyone sell such a perfect filly? But ... eight years later, they did! I used all my savings and borrowed the rest from my mom and dad to buy her. Comanche and I spent 18 wonderful years together and she still comes to visit in my dreams.

Ali with Seth

Ali

I met Ali when I was an adult and he was four months old. What a fun guy he was! Tons of energy! I loved the time I spent with him. We had many adventures and travelled all over B.C. together.

Orion and Wiley Coyote

Orion and Wiley have moved on to different homes now. I miss them, but at the same time, I'm glad they have such wonderful homes. Orion lives with a family with lots of kids, plus her one special girl, Anika. She is getting used to all the other animals on their farm, slowly but surely. She thought the chickens were especially frightening! Wiley has also found a wonderful family. He gets to go out trail riding a lot, the lucky fellow!
