Question of the Month Archive: May 2008

May 2008 Question:

Which would you rather have:

  1. a very pretty, but agonizingly slow horse;
  2. a very ugly, but blazing fast horse;
  3. a very loving and kind, but physically ordinary horse;
  4. a horse who is the most beautiful horse colour you can imagine, but otherwise ordinary.

Now this is a tough choice! Tell me, why did you choose the horse you did?

Some Answers to the May 2008 Question:

Chloe in The United States
"3, because even if they are ordinary, you can still train them to be better, and if they have a great personality, it makes them better to train."

J.F. in The United States
"I'll have to go with #3. I would want to have a good personality over beauty or pace. If I love my horse and my horse loves me, well what's better then that?"

Katelyn in The United States
"I would have to say #3 because no matter how ordinary a horse may look, it is it's true personality and how kind and safe it is that really catches my eye. I want a horse I can trust, and I know trusts me!"

Sara in The United States
"I will choose #3, "a very loving and kind, but physically ordinary horse" because I think there really is no such thing as anything to do with horses just being ordinary! All of them are just way to amazing! :D"

Erin in The United States
"#3 all horses are beautifull in their own way so all that would matter to me is that the horse is loving and kind."

Olga in Poland
"I think I would choose a very loving and kind, but physically ordinary horse because I don't care how the horse looks. I would rather have a nice horse to ride and who could be my friend."

Brittany in The United States
"I choose a very loving and kind, but physically ordinary horse. To me it doesn't matter what the horse looks like or how fast it is as long as it is sweet-natured. :D"

Stephanie in The United States
"I would rather have #3..the very kind and loving but physically normal horse, for more than one reason..it's hard to find an UGLY horse, and a horse can be trained to run faster! But I wouldn't mind if the horse was really ugly and really slow, because I WOULD have a horse, and I could say My Horse, and mean it. lol.."

Rachel D in The United States
"I would take three, a very lovining and kind but physically ordinary horse, because that was what my horse was. He was put down in the fall and I miss him insanely, but he was the most loving kind guy in the world. A typical bay with a little star, he would give me kisses and he would nicker for me. Right before he had to be euthanized, sick as he was; he gave me the biggest whinny he ever gave. A friend that loves you is more important than a good-looking friend any day. One that will make your life worthwhile- even if it's the end of theirs."

Stephenie in The United States
"The third one, even if I don't care how the horse looks, but as long as he or she is in good condition and treats me nicely. Hmm...I chose that kind of horse because it has the same traits as the horse that I want."

Nicole in Canada:
"#3, a very loving and kind but physically ordinary horse."

Tavia in Canada:
"I think that if I had the choice, I would rather have a very loving and kind, but physically ordinary horse, because what counts is what's inside. I would love to have a horse who whinnies when he/she sees me, and enjoys my company instead of spending most of his/her time thinking of ways to either break free and run as fast as possible or avoid physical exertion at all costs. I think all horses look beautiful, so the colour wouldn't matter - especially if that horse was mine!"

Kathryn in Canada:
"I would pick 3), a very loving and kind, but physically ordinary horse. That would be my choice because I don't really care how pretty or beautiful the horse I ride looks. I would way rather have a nice, gentle horse who was gentle and kind to it's rider. A horse who could be my friend, not just a horse who I ride."

Emma in Canada:
"Personally, I think I would choose 3 because I am a new rider and I think all horses are beautiful."
