July/ August 2007 Question:
To you, what is the coolest thing about horses? The way they look? Their
personalities? The way they make you feel? Or... what?
Some Answers to the July/ August 2007 Question:
Lexi in the U.S.A.:
"Umm. I don't know!!! Is this a trick question?! I would probably have to say... umm... Everything! Horses are so special they have so many cool features! I just love everything about them!"
Alicia in Canada:
"They are the best creatures. They listen to you and sometimes we can almost understand them. If we give them what they want, they give their hearts in return. We ride them and everything but that is because we are wanting them to do it. I could just stay on the ground and take care of my horse instead of riding it."
Emy in Hungary:
"Everything! Because every horse has its different personality, because they listen to you, because they're beautiful and because you only give them food, home and love, and they let you ride on them. They can throw you off any time, kick you or do anything with you, but they don't want to."
Sarah in the USA:
"That they are SOOO, sooooooooo beautiful and that they are always there for you and that they ALWAYS listen to you!!! And you can do the same thing for them, even if they can't talk!"
Julie in the USA:
"The most wonderful thing about horse is their wildness. No matter what you do, if a horse is afraid, there is always the chance that he will run. If he's attacked, he will run. All the love in the world couldn't kill his instinct, BUT... your horse will quell his own instincts to listen to you, because he loves you. He will look to you for guidance. So, the best thing about horses is their unconditional, wild, beautiful, LOVE."
Sara in the USA:
"The coolest thing about horses is that you can bond with them, they depend on you, and you depend then them. Also that graceful beautiful thing about them when they're bad, and buck about! And when you give them a carrot, they search your pockets for more! :D But the greatest thing about them is, the magical dark look behind their eyes that just tells you that your happiest times are with a horse."
Linda in Norway:
"I think the coolest thing about horses is that there are so many things you can do together with them! You can ride them high up in the mountains, or take a swim together with them! And you can talk to them about everything!!! And I love it when a horse you have worked with a while shows that he trusts you! But, actually, I love EVERYTHING about horses. They are very special!"
Ashley in Canada:
"I think its just amazing how they always understand you. Even the most stubborn and mean horse has a heart!"
Michaela in the USA:
"I think the best thing about horses is the way you can talk to them and they won't laugh or anything. And to me they make me feel FREE!"
Jennifer in the USA:
"To me, it's mostly the connection you have with them. You have to trust them to connect."
Kara in the USA:
"I love the connection you can make with certain horses. They can
really become your friends and having that sort of communication
while you're riding them is great. My mom has a horse named rocky.
He's a 7yr old paint gelding and has gone through a lot of abuse in
his life. Mom is the only person he trusts and to see them both
together is like to see to best friends. They hug each other too!"
Barbara in the USA:
"Their unconditional friendship, having a best friend around who you
can talk with, tell your secrets to, cry in front of, mess up, and
never be judged for your mistakes."
Stephanie in the USA:
"I love EVERYTHING about horses, but I have to agree with Stephenie on
this one. The way they listen to you. But also they're sense of
humor. If you've ever just sat there for a couple hours watching
horses, they can do some pretty funny stuff! Like if it's an oldish
horse, somtimes they act like a foal again! Kicking their legs in the
air, running around like a crazy horse."
Shae-Lynn in Canada:
"My favourite thing about horses is that they are always there for
you. You can put full trust in them and they put their full trust in you.
Horses can be ridden all the time unless injured and if I could have
a crazy horse I'd climb onto his back and ride like the wind. I would be free at heart without a care."
Stephenie in the USA:
"The way they listen to you. You can trust a horse with all your
secrets. They won't tell anyone. Horses love it when you tell them a
good secret!"
