Angela Dorsey’s BlogHalloweenSo what are you doing for Halloween? What are you dressing up as? Today, I’m going to a pumpkin lighting ceremony, then trick-or-treating tonight with my youngest daughter. She’s dressing up as a fairy princess. I hope it doesn’t rain too much. It supposed to be pouring out!

If i did Halloween, I’d go as um…I don’t know!! Heehee! Probably a medieval princess or gypsy. But I don’t, so nothing! My family and I always watch two movies with the house all dark and blankets on the windows while we eat dinner!!

That’s a really cool family tradition, Mirriam. I think its better than trick or treating. Today is pouring down rain and its supposed to be windy and stormy tonight too. Not much fun to be out, going from house to house, that’s for sure. Have fun!

I didn’t go out for halloween but I did make a costume for my goat. (Yes, I said goat!) His name is Uno, he’ll be 2 yrs old next March, and he’s a Fainting Goat. (We have 17 goats, along with a T.O.N. of other animals!)
I dressed him as a pumpkin, and he looked sooooo cute! I made him a little orange suit, and a little hat that looked like the lid of a pumkin. It had a green stem and everything! I meant to take a picture of him in it, but I forgot!
Ooops!

LOL! That’s fantastic, Amanda! I wish you’d gotten a photo.
November 1st, 2008 at 11:53 am
That’s hilarious Amanda! I dressed my horse like Santa Claus once. He looked really mad in the picture. Lol. I don’t do Halloween, but we had Pizza though, and candy, since my mom’s store had it on sale. And then my brothers had me play video games with them.

Mirriam, congratulations on second place in the GHC story contest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 1st, 2008 at 2:11 pm
Yeah! I must confess i always have been scared of goats, because when I was a kid (hehe) one goat pushed me in the butt! Ouchie!
And there was a goat at the ridingschool named Odin, and everytime he walked around free, he tried to push me. So I was happy when he moved. But I would love to see your goat in the pumpkin costume. what a funny and cute sight that must have been!
Maybe I should make a halloween costume for my cat? When we were small (I got him when I was 4, and he have been my best companion since), I made him a red necktie, but I put it on him a liiitle to tight! Poor Ollie!(His name is Oliver, but I always call him Ollie or puss
)My mom hurried to take it of him, and I was sooo sad, because I thought he looked so cute with it. But maybe you could put the costume on your goat again and capture a photo and send it? I would really love to see him!

I was just on Girls Horse Club and guess what?! Gabrielle, Mirriam, and I just won 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the writing contest! Isn’t that cool?!
November 2nd, 2008 at 8:22 pm
LOL I bet that was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cute! That is really to bad you didn’t get a piture!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn’t really do anything for halloween because I went to youth group but I’m going to a dress-up party on Tuesday, I’m going too be a pioneer.
November 2nd, 2008 at 8:36 pm
Well, I didn’t really dress up at all. I was just me. I felt that God wanted me to be a light to those that are not christians. So, That was what I was. Nothing really special. I go Bible quizzing (really fun!!), and they are having a dress up party. So in this one, I am going too be a bride. If you are wondering, me and Breanna are friends.

Yay!!! We had two stray dogs dumped out (abandoned
) across the street from our house and now they have claimed us as their new owners!!! Unfortunately my dad won’t let us keep them so we have to find homes for them. And YAY!!! We found a good home for one of them and she’s leaving on Tuesday. Her name is Tessa. (Or Tessie for short. I named her.) The other’s name is Duke (I named him too!) and he’s my fav. I’m really gonna miss him!
November 3rd, 2008 at 8:00 am
That’s really cool that you saved Tessie and Duke, Amanda. I’m glad you found Tessie a new home. Maybe you’ll be allowed to keep Duke afterward.
I love the idea of a horse dressed as Santa. Can you send us a picture, Rachel?
And congratulations to Gabrielle, Mirriam, and Amanda for winning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the writing contest at Girls Horse Club!!!
November 4th, 2008 at 6:22 am
Thank you!!! I didn’t know you kept an eye on it!! Isn’t it neat that we’re all friends, and we all placed!?
November 4th, 2008 at 12:50 pm
Thank you!
I wish I could find a dog,Amanda. I have one (a black mutt named Matthew) and he’s huge, and now my family’s getting a smaller dog, because Matthew’s too big to play with the little kids. He practically drowns them in all his slobber but we love him anyway. I hope he’s not jealous when we get our second dog
November 4th, 2008 at 1:48 pm
I know, what a coincidence! The person ended up wanted Duke and not Tessa, so Duke went bye-bye. *sniffles* I’m gonna miss him!
November 4th, 2008 at 2:38 pm
November 4th, 2008 at 3:14 pm
But now I have to find a home for Tessa. There isn’t an adoption place to take stray dogs to where I live.(Crawford County, GA) So when people get tired of their dogs they just take them to a country roas and umo them out. People can be so cruel.
November 4th, 2008 at 4:52 pm
Congratulations on placing guys!
I miss GHC sooooooooooooo much! We don’t have internet at our house yet. I feel so cut off from the entire world! It’s like trying to live without- a head or something!
November 4th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
Oh April, you’re a Christian? Me too!
November 5th, 2008 at 5:23 am
Rachel D and April - I”m a Christian, tooo!!!!! I never do Halloween.
November 5th, 2008 at 8:40 am
I’m a Christain too.
November 5th, 2008 at 8:57 am
Me to!!!!!!!!!
November 6th, 2008 at 5:52 am
That is SO cool!!!!!! I’m glad, glad, glad!!

November 6th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
That is so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 6th, 2008 at 6:18 pm
That is really cool that some of us are christians! That means we are sisters!!
What kind of church do you guys go to? I go to an M.B. (Mennonite Bretheren). It isn’t really Mennonite, I don’t know what you would call it!! My Uncle is the pastor!! He’s a GREAT pastor!!
November 6th, 2008 at 7:07 pm
I go to the same church as April, and he is a awesome paster!!!!!!!!! (I don’t know what you would call the church either!)
November 6th, 2008 at 7:36 pm
I go to a Methodist church. I don’t really get why there has to be so many different kinds of churches. All of us who go to church believe in the same God. Isn’t that the important part?
November 7th, 2008 at 5:35 am
You girls are awesome! We should form a cyber-saddle club!
November 7th, 2008 at 11:17 am
That would be so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good idea Mirriam!!!
That is a Good point Amanda, I think about that all the time. I mean we do believe in the same God so what’s the difference?
November 7th, 2008 at 2:04 pm
Do you guys want too exchange address’s somehow? Do you know if that would be okay if we emailed Angela and she could email us?
November 8th, 2008 at 3:42 pm
I think that would be okay. Would it Angela?
November 8th, 2008 at 4:45 pm
I think so…that’d be SO awesome!!
November 9th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
Hi guys. I used to do that for people, but I can’t anymore. Sorry. I just don’t have the time. It takes all my extra time just to keep up with my blog! That’s what happens when an author has too many books to write.
November 10th, 2008 at 8:29 am
Lol! That’s okay, Angela, I’d rather have a new book to read any day!
November 10th, 2008 at 9:03 am
That’s okay. Maybe some other time would work…or something!! What’s new for you guys? For me, we’ll probly do school today. We homeschool. So it is really awesome!! Sides that, nothing much that I know of.
November 10th, 2008 at 9:59 am
Thanks for being so understanding!
November 10th, 2008 at 1:46 pm
No problem, Angela! Too bad, but your books are too good!!!
November 11th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
April, I’m homeschooled too!
I have been since 3rd grade! (I’m in 9th grade now)
November 12th, 2008 at 6:02 am
I”m homeschooled too, April! I”m in 9th grade too, and have been homeshcooled my whole life!
November 12th, 2008 at 11:06 am
I have been homeschooled my whole life too! I don’t think that I would want too go to the ‘real’ school.
November 12th, 2008 at 2:59 pm
Me either. I kinda miss having alot of friends that I get to see everyday, but I have a lot of friends at church.
November 12th, 2008 at 9:04 pm
Have you ever heard of bible quizzing? I LOVE it! It is very fun. You meet all kinds of new friends. The cool thing is, your all christians! I memorize 2 verses a week, out of Luke. Some people memorize 1 chapter every 2 weeks. This year we skipped about 7-9 chapters in Luke. Other than that, they memorize the whole book. I think that I will do that next year.
November 14th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
Hey! Sorry I haven’t been on in so long! I’ve been soooo busy!!! For Halloween I went to a haunted house with my friends Haley and Lake! It was sooo much fun!!!! It was at our towns high school and we went through it once then we just hung out by the gazebo for an hour or so! Fun night!
I’m a Christian too!!!
Our QH mare is now 5 months pregnant!!! I can’t wait! I hope she has a filly since she had a colt last time. I’ll be sure to send photos when she foals! The cool part about foal watching is I get to spend the night in the barn!
I’m learning so much more about horses now that I’m in 4-H Equestrian Club! We are studying for Horse Bowl and there are some VERY specific questions! There are some about diet and shoeing, and lots more! I’m glad it’ll make me a better equestrienne though;)
November 17th, 2008 at 4:58 pm
I’ve been homeschooled my whole life too. That is so awesome guys, that we have all of this in common! Hey, about that ‘Cyber Saddle Club’ idea. I am working on a website, maybe we could hang out and exchange e-mail there. (And that’s okay Angela, about not being able to exchange our e-mail).
November 18th, 2008 at 8:19 am
That would be cool!! I love homeschooling!! Mom and Dad had me registered for kindergarden, They pulled me out because they felt that God wanted Them too homeschool me and not get picked on and all that ‘good’ stuff.
You should go to my cousin’s blog!!! It is
cravingchrist.blogspot.com
He is 14 or 15 (Wow! Time fly’s!!). He is actually my pastor uncle’s son. He is a really strong christian. He also has one of the best sense’ of humor ever!! He also goes bible quizzing. He doesn’t blog a whole bunch, YET. I will have too get on “His Case” about that.
November 18th, 2008 at 12:04 pm
I’m home schooled too!!!!
November 18th, 2008 at 4:25 pm
I was registered in Kindergarten and pulled out TOO April! That is so funny!
November 19th, 2008 at 10:27 am
That is Very funny!! Why did you get pulled out?
November 22nd, 2008 at 11:28 am
I really don’t remember. I’ll have to ask my mom about that.
November 22nd, 2008 at 4:51 pm
Rachel D, you can make websites? That’s cool. I haven’t been on here in a while and I was reading back on everything I’d missed. It’s funny: I’m a Christian, I’ve been homeschooled all my life, and I love horses. I just got out of ninth grade and I have to say I liked ninth more than tenth.
The ‘Cyber Saddle Club’ is a really good idea. Brittany, it must be fun to have a pregnant mare. I can’t wait to see pictures of the foal. I haven’t been riding in FOREVER and I really miss it. I’ve been trying to find a place nearby but we kind of live smack in the middle of the city.
November 26th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
I’ve been homeschooled since 2nd grade. When I was in public school my mom was a Substitute Teacher and she got to deal with all the stupid things that went on at school. If I remember correctly, she pulled me out because they were taking “One nation, under God” out of the Pledge of Alliegence and she thought this was VERY wrong! (As do I!) Now I do Bible Study everyday. Go figure!
November 26th, 2008 at 5:47 pm
It is fun! It will be easier to raise the foal this time, too! Our last two were born 2 days apart and were both colts. One of them had to have a special feed supplement because his mother wouldn’t let him nurse. But the upcoming foal is the only one we’ll have this time, so we can spend more time with him/her:)
