Fixed - Yay!

It looks like I got everything fixed on the blog, so you should all be able to leave messages again now. Don’t forget about our new story!

I just got back from a great writer’s conference. What fun! One of the things I did there was talk to a new publisher about writing a NEW BOOK! What would you guys like to read about???? Not counting Freedom, or Horse Guardian, or anything like that, of course.

Hmmm…tough one…Maybe some sort of mystery, involving horses that keep dissappearing? Just an ideal…

  2. Mirriam Says:

Hmm…a new book! SO COOL!!! Have you ever written like medieval fantasy? That could be neat! Or like a horse in Egyptian times!

  3. Amanda Says:

Oooohhh! Just had another ideal. Maybe you could write about an island? Islands are always mysterious!

  4. Angela Dorsey Says:

I’ve already done the horse in Egypt, but an island, now that sounds interesting… Maybe a girl takes out her dad’s canoe because she’s upset at him, and paddles to an island where she finds a horse or pony. Then she has to figure out why its there. That could be the mystery part.

  5. Anne-Line Says:

Likee, Angela! I look forward to read about the island. :)

Sorry I have been away for a while, but I have so much schoolwork. :P Grade 10 is a ton of homework and blah blah blah! Blaaah! :P

But today I am away from school cause Im sick. So I wanted to take a look at your website to cheer myself up a bit, and today is halloween! YAY! Im going to my little cousins halloween birthday party! His big sister and I have plans about hiding around in the house and scare the children. We did last year. I was a vampire hiding in the closet, and the children were scared off their pants when they opened it! But they laughted when they saw it was me, and I took out my fake vampire teeth and clapped with them. :D

This year, I suggested to her that I could be a sea serpent and hide in the bath tub, but they dont have a bath tub, so im gonna be an evil witch and hide under the bed! hahahaa! Its gonna be awesome!

Angela, maybe we could have a topic in the blog where we can send pictures of us in our halloween costumes, and talk about our halloween? I think that would be cool!

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO EVERYBODY!!! :D

  6. Mirriam Says:

Yeah! That sounds great! Good idea, Amanda! Oh yeah, you DID do an Egyptian one - Sobekarre’s Revenge, right? I haven’t read that one yet. I meant a horse in ANCIENT egypt, though, but an Island sounds better!!

  7. Angela Dorsey Says:

Your Halloween sounds like its going to be very fun, Anne-Line!

  8. Anne-Line Says:

    Oh, it sure was!

I just came home, after eating tons of candy and scaring the children at the party. (I am a person who gets easily scared, so I like to scare others at halloween). I was a “dead” house maid, lying in the bed, and when they entered the room, I ran up and screamed! But one became angry and jumped on me, luckily my cousin saved me, and not a second too late!

His big sister, Ingrid, who is at my age (15) and my best friend, insisted that if I were going to play dead, I had to be white in the face. They didnt have any white powder, so she put flour in my face! it was awful to have it on my lips, and under my nose. Atchoo!

But it worked, and everyone thought I looked scary. I had a very nice Halloween. And my cousin had a great birthday. :)

  9. Angela Dorsey Says:

What fun, Anne-Line! I wish I could’ve seen you being the dead maid. What a scary costume!

  10. Gabrielle Says:

How about a story set in Hawaii? There are ranches out there and the climate and the surroundings would be great for a story about a horse.

  11. Rachel D. Says:

Some fantasy in a story would be fun. Maybe the girl could find out that the horse on the island is a unicorn, that needs help with a quest or something. Perhaps he could reward her for her help- like by letting her ride him whenever she pleases.

  12. Amanda Says:

That sounds cool, Gabrielle. Another idea would be Austraila. There’s alot of islands around there and its hot, and tropical on alot of islands and yet some islands have a drier climate. And its kinda cool that the only think south of Australia is Antartica.

  13. Angela Dorsey Says:

Thanks for all the great ideas, everyone. You’ve given me lots to think about. If you have any more, send them along!

  14. Amanda Says:

I just had a really good ideal for a storyline! Okay here it is:
A girl is paddling her canoe in the ocean when a terrible storm hits. She is unable to make it to shore, and she is thrown from her canoe. Her canoe is lost and she is knocked unconsious by some floating debree. She wakes up on the shore of a mysterious deserted island. Since she lost her canoe, and has no idea how far the current carried her, she has no way of getting off the island. And then she finds a mysterious horse (Or maybe a herd of horses)on the island. Can she solve the mystery of the horse, and find her way off the island? Or must she solve the mystery of the horse(horses) so she CAN get off the island?

    What do you think?

  15. Angela Dorsey Says:

That’s weird, Amanda - I was thinking of a story kind of like that. Not exactly, but similar. I still hadn’t figured out why the horse was on the island though. Your question - or must she solve the mystery of the horse so she can get off the island? - is an intriguing one!

  16. Amanda Says:

Thanks! I guess great minds think alike, huh? LOL! :)

  17. Breanna Says:

Maybe the horse was ship wrecked on it or something.

  18. Mirriam Says:

Yeah! The horse (es) could be descendants of a horse that got shipwrecked there long ago, in the 18th century or something!! Or, the mystery could remain unsolved, you know, like “She would never know how the horses got on the Island. All she knew was that she owed them her life,” type thing. :) That wasn’t very good, but you get the idea. :D

  19. Breanna Says:

    That would be cool.

  20. Amanda Says:

I was thinking that maybe the horse(horses) holds the key to getting off the island. Like, she must solve the mystery in order for fate/destiny to let her leave the island. (Or maybe the horse is a ghost horse that seeks to be freed, and the girl must save (free) the horse from some sort of spell in order to save herself. Just brain-storming here! :)) And maybe after she solves the mystery she is given the secret to get off the island. Or is that whole ideal too wierd?! :D

  21. Breanna Says:

That sounds really cool! Maybe the horse could really be a Unicorn under a spell so that he (or she!)is a old shagy horse or some thing.

  22. Emma Says:

Those of you who suggested an island in Hawaii, do you read Phantom Stallion Wild Horse Island? Just an educated guess.

I think an island is cool, but maybe we shouldn’t write the book for Angela. I want to enjoy some suspense, if it actually gets written, while I’m reading it!

  23. Ingvild Says:

Maybe something about the first horse and human who became friends!

  24. Angela Dorsey Says:

Don’t worry, Emma. I’m just listening to your ideas to see what kind of things you like to read. Besides, I already did a book set in Hawaii - not that there aren’t a lot more good settings there, but I don’t think I’ll write about Hawaii again for now. It is fun hearing your ideas though. You’re all so imaginative!

  25. Amanda Says:

Thanks, Angela. Maybe you could do the story on an island near Australia? You know, there’s so many islands(the Pacific Islands) over there between California(U.S.) and Australia. Just an ideal! :)
