Winter…

When you write about winter, do you feel colder? I do!

Winter of the Crystal Dances is coming along wonderfully. It feels so great to be working on a new series!

I love winter! As weird as this sounds, I like it when it’s cold so that I can snuggle up somewhere and get warm :)

I know what you mean about feeling the way the characters in your book feel. Two of the books I’ve written/writing take place in the Sonoran Desert, and I always feel like I can feel the heat of the desert!

  3. Angela Dorsey Says:

I agree, Gabrielle. There’s nothing quite so nice as snuggling up when its all snowy outside.

I’m glad I’m not the only one, Amanda. I find that I keep having to put on sweaters when I write about winter!

I like when you can get so connected with your own characters and feel what they feel when you write it all down.

  5. Gabrielle Says:

When I write, I get so caught up in the story I can almost hear the horses and I have to give myself a shake to remember where I am :)

The imagination can be soooo powerful!

When I’m writing, everything gets different.

I have a very strong imagination because I’m inventing stories since I’m 3 years old … I’m a dreamer, everytime I don’t do something or do something like cleaning or sitting in a car, I’m inventing new stories or rewrite them again - everything in my head. I often think about books and try to get a role for me so I can continue the story even when the book has ended.

So writing can be very different. There is one type when I’m only writing and writing without thinking… that’s very strong, because I can feel everything and I can hear everything …

And there is the other type were I’m playing the character while I’m writing. Then I have only the strong feelings like hate, joy, sadness, love, etc.
But in both types I have an exact film in my head. I really can see everything! My characters, the landscape, really everything. I only need to describe what I’m seeing! It’s hard to explain - it’s a bit like watching TV :) !

But there is one problem: My books can never be adapted for a film. I would never ever be satisfied with the result :D !

  8. Gabrielle Says:

Right now I’m not writing about winter or summer. There are so many ideas tumbling through my head I don’t know what to write first.

  9. Angela Dorsey Says:

I’m glad I’m not the only one that these things happen to!

  10. Mirriam Says:
